Profile

Scottie Scheffler was born on 21 June 1996 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and grew up in Dallas, Texas. He turned professional in 2018 after a decorated college career at the University of Texas. Within four years he had reached the summit of world golf, and he has barely looked down since.

Scheffler first reached world #1 in March 2022, the same month he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. Within weeks he had added the green jacket, winning The Masters at Augusta National at -10 to claim his first major title in dominant fashion. The golf world had known he was exceptional; Augusta confirmed it to the wider sporting public.

If 2022 announced him, 2024 was the year Scheffler transformed from great to historically dominant. His 2024 PGA Tour season — accumulating multiple wins, Player of the Year honours, and a second Masters title (-11 at Augusta National) — drew comparisons with the greatest seasons ever played. His iron play, course management, and mental composure under pressure are widely regarded as the best in the world.

In 2024, Scheffler also won Olympic gold at the Paris Games (reported), adding an international dimension to a career already brimming with landmarks. He is married with a young family, and his grounded, faith-driven personality stands in contrast to the hype that surrounds him.

Note on 2025 season: Results from the 2025 season (May 2025 onwards) are beyond this profile's verified scope. For Scheffler's most recent results and whether he has added further major titles, see our latest results page.
